Ceramic Tile Cut Pressed Edge

Firmly press the edge of the glass cutter or carbide pencil along the line using a carpenter square as a guide.

Score the profile with the saw then cut in from the edge of the tile to remove as much waste as possible. Then place the file on the edge about an inch from the tip and push downward in a single smooth stroke. You start by marking the cut and scoring the face of the tile on the line. Repeat this process until the edges are no longer sharp.

Just place your tile on a flat firm surface holding the end down with your non dominant hand. Create a pencil line where you want to make the cut then use the grinder to lightly score the line. Then pass back and forth over the score mark until the tile is cut. Since it applies only to the tile s edges it is called an edge treatment.

If your tile is big a square foot or more then cut 2 inches. Turn on the saw hold the tile rigidly against the tray slide it and let the blade cut the tile. Rectified tile is fired tile ceramic or porcelain tile that has been mechanically cut or ground down to an exact size. If your tile is small 1 inch is enough.

As an alternative use a grinder with a diamond tile cutter wheel to cut the tile. Do not cut entirely through the tile. A rectified edge means the edges of the tile have been cut to ensure every tile is the same exact size no calibers.
